Fluorescence Microscope is a scientific instrument that uses mercury to produce ultraviolet light. It requires near monochromatic, illumination which widespread light sources cannot give. It is a type of microscope that is use to examine specimens, microbes and all other sample with luminescent properties.

It is commonly use on medical researches and pharmaceutical laboratories by Biologists. It is primarily used to gather information and at the same time creates images when the structure is detectable.The essential task of a fluorescence microscope is to excite light radiation within the specimen then sort out the low light discharge to make up an image.

In fluorescence microscope, the light of a specific wavelength is passed through a particular microscope condenser that centers the light into a confined ray. When the light reach the specimen, the luminescent mixture become excited and begin to give off light. Using a dichroic mirror, which is a color filter strained out the ray of light makes the specimen excited, a biologist then can brightly see the luminescent and can take down notes about its structures and properties, or take a photo of the specimen for further studies.

Substances like wax, oil and chlorophyll contain fluorescence. Fluorescence is the diffusion of light by an element that has take up the light or other radiation while phosphorescence is the light emitted by an element without ignition. The light use in a fluorescence microscope is frequently hazardous to the eyes, it is advisable to put a polarizer filter on the eyepiece so the eyes of the researcher is not inflicted by the microscope. These filter can also be use to increase the brightness which makes the luminescence more clear and visible.

The only thing that sets fluorescence microscope apart from other microscope is you can adjust the image into a clearer version and also has a function that can higher or lower if needed.
